Be creative with the beaded designs. Here are two more examples of Yoonchalard's work.

    Materials:

    Clean glass bottles
    Glass beads or buttons
    Corks
Very thin wire or paper wire
    Small pliers
    Glue (optional)

    1. Loop the glass beads (figure A) with wire and let them hang around the bottle. Fasten them so that they stay where you want them.

    2. Continue the process down to the bottom of the bottle and tie off the wire (figure B).

    3. Take one last button or bead and wire it. Twist the two ends of wire together and pierce the top of the cork, working it in firmly. If the wire is very fine, you may find it easier to use glue.

    Tips:

    • Bottles can be recycled olive oil or wine bottles, well cleaned. Bottles with square bodies and round necks are easier to work with.

    • Beads and buttons can be recycled from old jewelry or clothes; clear is better. Round beads will go well around the cylindrical neck of the bottle; flat beads will fit well with the flat part of the bottle.

    • Wire may be the finest-gauge copper or steel wire, or traditional Japanese paper wire.

    • If you need glue, the following work well: wood glue, cement glue and Liquid Nail. Check for the formula that is best for your purpose.

    • This same technique can be used to decorate a votive candleholder.

Products: Most products are available at a craft store. Various glues can be found at a hardware store.
